Joseph brings over a decade of legal experience to his practice, assisting clients as they navigate complex and often intimidating legal systems. He approaches each day with a clear purpose: to help clients find practical solutions to challenging legal issues. In moments when uncertainty, stress or confusion take hold, he is committed to providing clarity, steady guidance and support at every stage.
He began his legal career serving the South Florida community through the University of Miami School of Law. As a member of the Health and Elder Law Clinic, now the Health Law Clinic, he represented individuals who could not otherwise afford legal counsel, assisting with Social Security administrative matters and immigration-related issues. That early experience shaped his client-centered approach and reinforced the importance of accessibility and advocacy.
He continued that commitment as a member of the Investor Rights Clinic, advocating for members of the investment community in disputes involving their brokers, and went on to earn a Master of Laws in Taxation from the same school. That background lets him approach a matter with a broader understanding of the financial, regulatory and strategic considerations sitting behind it.
Joseph has since gained extensive experience in estate planning and civil litigation, representing clients in both state and federal courts, and is qualified to appear before the Southern and Middle District Courts of Florida. He founded Bendel Law with the mission of providing accessible, thoughtful legal services and helping clients move forward with greater clarity and peace of mind. His focus is always on strategic solutions, and on making sure clients leave his office better off than when they arrived.
Originally from Canada, Joseph is an avid ice hockey player and has shared the ice with current and former NHL players during his time in South Florida. He enjoys the outdoors, including summiting Mt. Shuksan, 9,131 feet, in Washington State in 2015. Before becoming a lawyer he spent over four years as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician responding to calls in Miami Beach, and worked as a teacher. Above all, he values time spent with his wife, Carolina, and their children.
